Pererenan is north of Canggu across the river: beach access, a strip of its own, and the most built up of the areas north of Canggu.
It sits between Canggu to the south and Seseh to the north, with a black sand beach, rice field edges and much of what Canggu has, a little quieter.
Inland, Tumbak Bayuh and Buduk are more rural, with larger plots and rice fields, and Buduk is the furthest from the beach. Babakan, between Pererenan and Canggu, is part of Canggu village rather than Mengwi, which matters when you check which rules apply.
Compared with Seseh, it is busier and more built up, with more services close by. Compared with Berawa, on the Canggu side, it is quieter. Both comparisons come down to how much you want on your doorstep.
Fourteen areas compared, and the question that bites in each.
No. Pererenan is its own village in Mengwi district, across the river from Canggu, which is in North Kuta district. Both are in Badung regency.
Pererenan is busier, more built up and closer to everything Canggu has. Seseh, beyond it, is quieter, with more rice field, more protected coast and fewer services. Buying in Seseh.
